Hello, I’m Karen Batty, an experienced counsellor and I know that good therapy really does make a difference and can change our lives for the better.
My background is in education and retraining as a counsellor was the next natural step for me as I have always believed that there isn’t enough help in the wider community for adults and young people who are struggling with life’s challenges. I love working alongside clients of all ages from 6 to 86 to really help them understand themselves, why they are the way they are and bring acceptance. It really is a privilege to be part of so many peoples journeys.

My counselling experience includes working in Primary Care (NHS medical practice), Relate: adults, couples and young people, Mind: Bereavement and Suicide Support and Cruse Bereavement: adults and young people. In addition I work in primary schools, secondary schools and higher education settings, support the military community and have my private practice.
I am an accredited member of the BACP and adhere to their strict professional code of ethics. I am fully insured, I have an enhanced DBS certificate and regularly update my skills and qualifications through ongoing training.
